How do you know the bride?

Nini and I met my very first day in Singapore when Dickson (a fellow colleague) introduced us over a chicken rice dinner in Novena. We immediately bonded over: - the challenges of moving to Singapore (which now pale in comparison to moving to China) - our relationship stories with our on/off boyfriends at the time (who shared the same first name which required extra clarification when referencing either one by name) - and our love of red wine (which Nini being the resourceful and newly promoted manager she was would slip entire bottles into her handbag at firmwide drinks right under the noses of senior management).

What advice would you give the groom?

Nini is an incredibly loving and loyal person - being good to her and 100% honest with her will come back to you a hundred times over. On a more practical note, there are rare moments when Nini may not know the exact answer but as a well trained consultant will still speak with 100% confidence. Learn to identify when she really knows the answer or when you may need to intervene. An exception to this is when it comes to directions - in this case Nini is rarely right and it is usually safer to take the lead.
